Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has approved the appointment of Mr. Obumneme Akunyili, as the Director-General Project Monitoring.
Obumneme is the son of former National Agency for Food and Drugs Administation and Control, NAFDAC, boss, late Prof Dora Akunyili.
He was appointed alongside 10 others in the fresh appointments announced by the state Commissioner of Information, Paul Nwosu on Thursday.
Other appointees are Rt. Hon Anayo Nebe – Special Adviser, Legislative/State Assembly Matters; Dr. Alex Obiogbolu – Special Adviser, Political Matters; Dr. Godwin Nnadozie – Special Adviser, Medicals and Pharmaceuticals; Dr. Emma Ezenwaji – Chairman of Governing Board Anambra State Waste Management Authority (ASWAMA); and Mr. Mike Ozoemena – MD/CEO, ASWAMA.
Appointed also were Dr. Simeon Onyemaechi – MD/CEO, Anambra State Health Insurance Agency; Mr. Tony Ujubuonu – MD/CEO, Anambra State Signage and Advertising Agency; Barr. Raphael Asha Nnabuife – Special Adviser, Local Government Affairs; Mr. Chido Obidiegwu – MD, Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS); and Prof. Phil Phil-Eze – MD, Anambra State Erosion, Watershed and Climate Change Agency (ANSEWCCA), respectively.
Reacting to the appointment, Akunyili wrote on his Facebook account, “I am deeply humbled. Thank you Mr Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo for having such faith in me. I must now repay that trust by carrying out my duties with diligence, integrity and efficiency. Anambra ga adi Nma.”
