The leadership of Catholic Church, Enugu Diocese, has sanctioned Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka over his uncomplimentary remarks on the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi.
Fr. Mbaka had called Obi “a stingy man,” saying that he would never be President of Nigeria.
The remarks have since been roundly condemned by Nigerians from across the regions and political divides.
Just as public condemnations have continued to trail Fr. Mbaka’s uncomplimentary remarks, the Catholic Church has directed its members and priests to keep their distance from Mbaka’s Adoration Ministry.
The directive was contained in a letter personally signed by the Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Bishop Callistus Onaga.
Below is the letter obtained by Ikengaonline.
