Just as we earlier reported, barring any unforseen circumstances, President Muhammadu Buhari will today swear in Justice Olukayode Ariwoola as the Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN).
This followed the resignation of the former CJN, Justice Tanko Muhammad, on health grounds today.
Justice Ariwoola is now the most senior justice of the Supreme Court.
The news of the swearing in of the new Acting CJN was confirmed by Bashir Ahmad, aide to the President on social media, via his verified Twitter handle moments ago.
“Justice Olukayode Ariwoola to be sworn-in as acting Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) by President Muhammadu Buhari today,” he tweeted.
