Anambra State government has promised to engage SMEDAN (Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria) team to ensure that more empowerment programmes get to the grassroots across the state.
Commissioner for Commerce and Industry Dr Obinna Ngonadi made the disclosure when he declared open the National Business Skills Development Initiative (NBSDI) ceremony at Prof Kenneth Dike Central e-Library, Awka, Wednesday.
The programme is aimed at identifying diverse needs of entrepreneurs and as well empowering them for greater attainments.
Ngonadi urged the participants to make the best use of the training opportunity and the equipment to improve businesses.
Delivering his keynote address, the Director General SMEDAN, Mr Olawale Fasanya, represented by the Deputy Director Entrepreneurship Development and Promotions Department, Mrs Fatima Shuaibu, assured that the agency will continue to support entrepreneurs across Nigeria.
The participants will go home at the end of the 4-day programme with laundry, tailoring, hairdressing, catering equipment etc.
