The University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Gwagwalada, Abuja, has raised fresh concern over resurgent cases Marburg virus and COVID-19 infections.
The hospital’s management released a memo on Friday through the public relations office, notifying the entire staff and hospital community of the recent outbreak and the need to ensure adherence to preventive protocols.
In the memo signed by the deputy director (information), Sani Suleiman, for the CMD, the hospital management also assured to communicate to the staff further details on the outbreaks through its official social media platforms.
The memo reads: “the Management of University of Abuja Teaching Hospital wishes to notify the entire hospital community of an outbreak of Marburg disease and upsurge in COVID-19 infection.
“Consequently, the attention of all Head of departments and members of staff is hereby drawn to ensure adequate surveillance and hygiene by observing all protocols of prevention.”
