President Muhammadu Buhari will on September 21, 2022, address world leaders at the High-Level Segment of the 77th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, United States.
The Spokesperson, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mrs Francisca Omayuli, disclosed this on Monday in a statement made available newsmen in New York, United States.
Omayuli said that the president would cease the opportunity to demonstrate her support and commitment to multilateral efforts geared toward addressing current and emerging global challenges.
She mentioned such challenges to include climate change, terrorism, job creation, food security, the Covid-19 pandemic and other factors militating against achieving the 2030 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
“President Muhammadu Buhari will join other world leaders at the event and will take his turn to deliver his statement on Wednesday, September 21, 2022.
“The president will be participating at various side-events as well as hold bilateral meetings with some world leaders,” she said.
According to Omayuli, Nigeria will maximise the opportunity to seek global support and deepen engagement with other member states and international development agencies in her priority areas such as economy, infrastructural development and others.
