Presidential Candidate of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso, has said that his party is the one to beat in the elections.
He said this is because the two major parties, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressive Congress (APC) have failed the nation.
The former Governor of Kano State stated this in Abakaliki, capital of Ebonyi State.
He was in the State to Commission the Presidential Campaign office of his party.
He said: “I was one of the first governors that formed APC and helped to produce the President in 2015. We were angry with PDP but unfortunately APC have also proven to be worse than PDP.
“In the North now we are the party to beat, APC has failed the country and PDP has also failed the country. You may not understand what I am saying because you have a good governor.
“The security is solid and the economy is not as bad as elsewhere. But those of us coming from the North really know what is happening and even in some parts of the East,” he said.
The ANPP Presidential Candidate said said the question of zoning, ethnicity and religion should not be brought into the presidential race.
He said what the country needs right now is someone who is most credible and qualified candidate who has the capacity to lead the country at this most trying period of its history.
