Barrister Casmir Agbo, Enugu State Chairman of the Labour Party (LP), has said the chapter was waiting for directive from the party’s national office to conduct fresh gubernatorial primary as ordered by the Abuja High Court.
He disclosed this in a telephone chat with Ikengaonline in Enugu, adding that, they were ready for whichever decision taken by LP headquarters.
It would be recalled that, the Abuja Court had ordered a fresh gubernatorial primary while delivering judgment in a suit brought by, Mr Everest Nnaji, challenging the emergence of Mr Chijioke Edeoga as LP candidate in Enugu State.
“We are waiting for directive from our national office to conduct a fresh primary as ordered by the Court,” he said.
Agbo, a Lawyer, said the party’s Legal Team was studying the judgment “and as soon as we receive directives we move on.”
He urged the Labour Party supporters across the state to remain calm and focused, as the party was poised to take the state in the 2023 election.
“There is no cause for alarm; there is nothing to worry about, we are on course,” he said.
The chairman blamed the ruling PDP for trying to distract the Labour Party, adding that, “no amount of distractions will stop a moving train.”
