Retired Maj. Gen. Chris Eze has been appointed to head the Labour Party, Presidential Campaign Security Committee for Enugu State in the forthcoming 2023 presidential election.
Mr Emeka Mama, the state Coordinator of the LP/PCC confirmed this on Tuesday to Ikengaonline in Enugu.
This followed a trending audio in which the coordinator was seen announcing the names and positions of the committee members.
“Yes, I authored the audio, those were the confirmed presidential campaign committee members in the state, ” Mama said.
Eze, who was the immediate past Nigeria’s Ambassador to India, held several command positions in Nigeria Army before his retirement.
He recently dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC) and joined the Labour Party (LP) in Udenu Local Government Area of the state.
He is to oversee all security arrangements for the LP/PCC presidential engagements in Enugu State during the electioneering.
Mama named other members of the committee as, Mr Paulinus Odo, a retired Director in the Department of State Security (DSS), who is to serve as the Secretary and retired Lt. Col. Aaron Ugwu among others.
