After what may be seen as a subtle endorsement, the presidential bid of the Labour Party, LP, candidate, Mr Peter Obi, received a major boost Thursday as Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, pledged logistic support for the former Anambra State Governor in Rivers State.
Wike who made the declaration when Obi visited Rivers on the governor’s invitation to inaugurate the Nkpolu-Oroworokwo Flyover, said Obi had the qualities needed to move Nigeria forward.
The Rivers Governor described Obi as “a very humble man,” and promised to offer logistic support to his campaigns in Rivers.
Wike poured encomiums on Obi saying he performed very creditably while holding sway as Anambra State Governor.
“He’s a former governor and presidential candidate, and a very humble man. As a State Government, we will also give him logistics support for his campaigns.”
“Each time you want to campaign in the state, let me know, all the logistics support, we will give to you,” Wike told Obi.
Obi was in Port Harcourt with his running mate, Datti Baba-Ahmed, for the inauguration of the ‘flyover’ which was the 9th built by Gov. Wike.
The event was almost converted to a political rally for Obi as a mammoth crowd of his supporters, the ‘Obi-Datti Movement’ was on ground to accord him a rousing welcome.
