The Gubernatorial candidate of Labour Party for Enugu State in the 2023 general election, Hon. Chijioke Edeoga, had promised to prioritise security if elected governor.
He said this in Ehamufu, Isi Uzo Local Government Area, while embarking on ward to ward campaign of the area.
“My government will make the security of lives and property of our people top priority,” he said.
Edeoga spoke at the backdrop of recent attacks by suspected Fulani herdsmen in Ehamufu in an age-long herders/farmers clashes that have claimed many lives.
Ikengaonline understands that over 11 farmers were reportedly killed in their farms by the rampaging herdsmen last Saturday.
Edeoga, who took his campaign tour to Eha-Amufu Ward 2 and Eha-Amufu Ward 4, lamented the spate of killings in the area and the general insecurity in Enugu State.
He joined elders to offer prayers for the peaceful repose of the souls of those who lost their lives in the incident.
Ikengaonline reports that the people in each of the wards came out in their numbers to welcome him and his entourage.
