Ben Ezechime, Enugu
Hon. Chijioke Edeoga, Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate for Enugu State in the 2023 election says if elected, his Government will open up more rural communities in Isi Uzo Local Government Area of the state.
Edeoga said this at Ikem ward 1, headquarter of Isi Uzo during his ongoing “ward to ward” tour in Isi Uzo.
He said, he would embark on massive rural road infrastructure across Isi Uzo and other local government areas in the state.
“If voted into office, the Labour Party administration in Enugu State under my leadership will open up the rural communities through massive roads infrastructure.
“I will also make provision for potable water a priority in the rural areas, across the state.
“This is part of my agenda to mitigate the effect of water borne diseases in parts of Enugu State,” he said.
He assured the teeming crowds that received him that, a new Enugu State anchored on justice and equity was possible.
The LP governorship hopeful, urged the people to vote out the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), in the state for failing to deliver on their electoral promises since 1999.
Edeoga said his desire to vie for the governorship of Enugu State was borne out of the need to give the people the right governance which the PDP had failed to provide in the past 23 years.
“Rather than providing good governance, the PDP has inflicted misery, poverty and disease on the people.
“This has to change: we in Labour Party are here to change the situation: to provide quality leadership and good governance to the people of Enugu State,” he said.
He promised to run an inclusive government that would give every part of the state a sense of belonging.
He added that, every part of the state would feel the positive impact of his administration if voted into power.
Edeoga advised the people to resist the monetary inducement that has been the style of PDP over the years and vote for the party that would affect their lives positively.
Speaking, Chief Emmanuel Odo, a chieftain of the party in Isi Uzo assured the Labour Party candidate that, the people were solidly behind him.
Odo promised that the people would vote overwhelmingly for Edeoga in the forthcoming election.
He told him that there were those still in PDP but their bodies and soul were already with the Labour Party assuring that the results would prove him right come March, 2023.
