The Governorship Candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in Enugu State, Hon. Chijioke Edeoga, has promised to embark on mass rural electrification of communities across the state, if elected.

He said this during a governorship campaign rally at Ogbodu Aba, ward, in Udenu Local Government Area of the state.

Edeoga said that, he would decentralize the State Rural Electrification Board to the three senatorial districts to make the agency serve it’s purpose of connecting the communities with electricity.

“I will decentralize the Enugu State Rural Electrification Board in order to drive my mass rural electrification vision across communities and villages in Enugu State.

“Our new approach is to change our circumstances sustainably.

“In this regard, I will create three zonal Directorates across the three senatorial zones in the state with the mandate to provide in its fullness, rural electrification in each of the zones within my first four years in office.

“Before I leave office as governor  I will ensure that every community in Enugu State has electricity. There will be no exception,” Edeoga said.

Ikengaonline reports that the LP candidate has continued his ward to ward tour of the 17 local government areas of the state.

Out of the 17 LGAs, he has so far visited all the wards in Isi Uzo, Enugu East and Udenu respectively.
