For the umpteenth time suspected herdsmen in the early hours of Sunday invaded Ebor Community of Ehamufu killing over ten residents of the community.
A reliable source told Ikengaonline that the invaders struck at about 4:30 am Sunday morning through Agala community in Benue State.
It is still not clear how many people were killed during the attack but our source said that should be over ten farmers killed.
“It is true that herdsmen attacked our community this morning and many people were killed because the attack took place early when people have not woken up.
“I cannot say exactly how many people were killed but they may not be less than ten,” he said.
The source said that, many of the community members were now hiding in the bush for fear of losing their lives.
“We don’t know how they over-powered the security operatives and the vigilantes,” he said.
Efforts to reach the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the State Command, Mr Daniel Ndukwe, DSP, for confirmation proved abortive as his number was not reached.
However, our source revealed that some security agents were seen heading towards Ebor community.
Ikengaonline reports that, the latest attack on Ebor is coming just few days after over 40 residents were reportedly killed and scores displaced at Mgbuji community by suspected herders.
