The presidential ambition of the Labour Party candidate, Mr Peter Obi, received a major boost weekend, as the people of Southern Kaduna endorsed him for the 2023 presidential poll.
Southern Kaduna stakeholders who made the endorsement at a rally in Kafanchan, said that Obi towers high among other presidential candidates.
According to them, the former Anambra State Governor has the capacity, wisdom and economic prudence to navigate Nigeria out of the woods.
The stakeholders who also endorsed the LP governorship candidate in the state, Jonathan Asake, said that Obi remained the many equations of Nigeria.
They vowed to vote massively for Labour party in the forthcoming polls, declaring that Southern Kaduna has suffered enough under the current administration.
Insisting that Obi is the best candidate for the presidential seat, Southern Kaduna stakeholders urged all progressive Nigerians irrespective of their tribe and religion to rally behind Obi.
According to them, Obi has the capacity to rescue the country from its security and socio-economic challenges.
Southern Kaduna stakeholders further blamed the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC; and the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for the woes of Nigeria, and vowed never to give them their votes.
The stakeholders slammed the PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, who they alleged, never empathized with the people of Southern Kaduna in the various attacks in the area by bandits and killer herdsmen.
In a remark, the LP governorship candidate, Asake, said the emergence of Obi was a divine arrangement to end the woes of Nigerians.
Asake, who was the former President of Southern Kaduna Peoples Union, said the endorsement “is a loud statement of the mood of the people in southern Kaduna, who are yearning for a more responsive, empathic, and humane leadership that will tackle challenges facing the zone and Kaduna in general.”
He expressed optimism that Obi and his running mate, Dr Yusuf Datti-Ahmed would clear the 2023 polls with large margin across the country.
