A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Ibeku Ward, Opi, in Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State, Pharm. Damian Agbo, has decamped to the Labour Party with over 2000 supporters.
Speaking while receiving his membership card in his ward, Agbo said he was dumping PDP for Labour Party because “the umbrella is currently leaking.”
He explained that, things were no longer the same in his former party in terms of providing good governance for the people.
“I have seen the Labour Party as an instrument for the needed transformation in Enugu state and in Nigeria at large,” he said.
The Labour Party chairman of Ibeku ward, Mr. Pedro Chinwe, welcomed the decampee and appreciated his courage in making the right decision.
In his reaction, the State Chairman of Labour Party, Barr. Casmir Agbo, described the decampee as a big fish.
“It’s a welcome development, we are a happy, and we are still expecting more to come on board.
“We are determined to change the face of governance in Enugu State,” he said.
