The wife of Mr Peter Obi, Presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP), Mrs Margaret Obi has urged women of Enugu State to ensure the collection of their Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) ahead of the February 25th presidential election.
She said this at a Town Hall meeting organised for her and Mrs Aishatu Datti-Ahmed by the women wing of the party as part of activities of Obi/Datti presidential campaign in Enugu.
Mrs Obi said that the PVC was their ticket to usher in a new Nigeria of their dreams.
“A new Nigeria is possible with your PVC. The essence of having your PVC is that, it is your key to having a new Nigeria,” she said.
She advised the women not to bow to any pressure to sell their PVCs, adding that PVC remained their political strength to change the narrative.
She also said that, her husband and his vice Datti Baba Ahmed were competent, vibrant and young and have the capacity to usher in a new Nigeria.
Speaking, the national women leader of LP, Mrs Dudu Manuga said God has destined Labour Party to rescue Nigeria through Peter Obi.
She, however, said that, to rescue Nigeria can only be possible with the active participation of women.
She urged the women to rise up to rescue Nigeria by collecting their PVCs.
In the same vein, Mrs Elizabeth Agu, a party leader, urged the women to mobilise for the party ahead of the election.
“In addition to your PVCs, you should form groups at the ward levels,” she said.
