The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is set to dissolve the State Working Committee (SWC) of the Enugu State chapter barring any last minute intervention.

A credible source told Ikengaonline that the NWC’s decision follows the insistence of Gov. Ifeanyi Igwuanyi not to campaign for the party’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

An inside source from the party told Ikengaonline that the decision to sack the State EXCO was also hinged on Ugwuanyi’s continued romance with the G-5 governors.

“NEC has concluded plans to dissolve the Enugu State EXCO of the party as Ugwuanyi defied the order and condition given to him last week when he went to Abuja to pledge loyalty to the party.

“He was directed to stop all activities with the gallivanting G-5 governors and start campaigning for PDP’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar,” he said.

Ikengaonline has gathered that the disciplinary committee of PDP’s NEC met Thursday night to deliberate on Enugu PDP’s fate.

This is as the governor is expected to welcome the G-5 Governors in Enugu for their statewide campaign rally holding at Okpara Square this Friday thus defying the orders of the NEC of the party.

Only recently, the NWC suspended former Gov. Chimaroke Nnamani and his Ebeano group from the party, and subsequently set up a disciplinary committee to try him and others for anti-party.
