Former Minister for Education and strong advocate of good governance, Mrs Oby Ezekwesili, has intensified her support for the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi, as she takes to the social media to educate voters on how to cast their ballot for the Labour Party in the February 25 presidential poll.
Ezekwesili, in a post on her verified Twitter handle @obyezeks, urged all eligible voters in the country to be armed with their Permanent Voter’s Cards, PVCs, and actively participate in birthing the new Nigeria by voting Obi into power.
She said nobody should be a spectator in the on-going efforts to rescue Nigeria from few greedy power hawks that had hijacked the country.
“And when that Day comes, all citizens who are tired of being badly governed shall each go out and place their right index thumb on the Mama, Papa and Pikin logo of LP as seen here!
“Get your PVCs. Do everything possible to get it. The PVC is your greatest possession now,” Ezekwesili tweeted.
Ikengaonline had reported that Ezekwesili who was a member of former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s Economic Management Team, had penultimate week accused the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar, of misleading the public on his claims that under his watch as the Chairman of the National Economic Council, Nigeria’s economy re-bounced.
But Ezekwesili who said the former Vice President lied, punctured Atiku’s claims, explaining that the Economic Management Team headed by the then Minister of Finance and the Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, was the architect of any successes recorded under Obasanjo’s administration, and not the Atiku’s National Economic Council.
She said that Atiku was misleading the public on the functions of the Council and that of the presidential Economic Management Team, which she insisted, were never the same.
