The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Ebonyi State, says that it has rejected the campaign council recently constituted by its gubernatorial candidate, Professor Bernard Odoh.

Ricky Okorouka, the state chairman of the Party, stated this in an interview in Abakaliki, capital of the State on Monday.

The party’s governorship candidate, Prof Bernard Odoh had last week inaugurated the campaign council with Mr Samuel Okporie as the Director-General.

But Mr Okorouka said the party was not aware of the composition and inauguration of the council.

He said that he and his executives were not aware that anyone was appointed the director general or given any position in the council.

“We wish to inform the public of this development in order not to be misled.”

The state chairman said that composition of the council was therefore a nullity having contravened the party’s regulations.

“The activities of political parties revolve round their leaderships as the privileges given to candidates should not be taken for granted.”

He noted that other party executives and its leadership at the local government level were also not part of the campaign council’s formation.

“We will continue meeting to ensure that that the right thing is done.”

Chairman of the party in Ezza South LGA, Mr Ernest Aleke, described the development as condemnable.

“We would stand by the state chairman in the situation and ensure that people who just joined the party do not control its affairs.”

The party’s Chairman in Ohaukwu LGA, Mr Chinedu Ogba, said it was unimaginable for a candidate to win election without the party’ structure.

“We have no other state chairman than Ricky Okorouka and no other person can direct the party’s affairs in the state.”

The APGA Gubernatorial Candidate, Prof. Bernard Odoh, however, said that there was nothing to worry about as the party does not have problems with anyone.

He noted that party’s campaign was moving smoothly without hitches.
