Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi, Monday in Dutse, the capital city of Jigawa State, strongly advocated for the inclusion of women in governance.

Obi who made the advocacy while speaking at a town hall meeting with women in the state, said that women occupy strategic place in both the family and society that they could not be excluded in decision making and policy formation.

The former Anambra State Governor who attended the event with his running mate, Dr.  Datti-Ahmed, promised to assign women roles in his Government if voted into power.

He tweeted on his Twitter handle, the success of the town hall meeting which is part of his on-going campaign tours across the country.

“Dr. Datti and I speaking at the Women’s Town Hall in Dutse. The place of women in nation building, must be accorded high priority. Women are the anchor of a stable family and nation; hence the woman’s prominent place on our logo. -PO.”
