The Governorship candidate of Labour Party (LP) for Enugu State, Hon. Chijioke Edeoga, has promised to rehabilitate roads in Enugu metropolis as part of his urban renewal programme if elected governor.

He said this on Monday at Idaw River area of Enugu while addressing residents of Idaw River, Achara Layout and the neighborhood as part of his one-on-one campaign.

Edeoga said he would embark on massive roads rehabilitation in Enugu metropolis based on what he had seen on ground.

“Labour Party government under my watch will ensure that no part of Enugu city will be a slum.

“As part of my urban renewal programme, I assure you that all the streets in parts of Enugu city will be cleaned up and rehabilitated.

“Be rest assured that no part of Enugu will be left out of this programme,” he said.

He called on the residents to vote for him, adding that he was ready to bring governance closer to the people.

“We will run an all inclusive administration where people will have their say.

“I have gone round about 98 per cent of all the wards in Enugu State and that has exposed me to the problems being faced by our people.

“I am assuring you that, if voted come March 11, you will start seeing changes within the first year of our administration,” he said.

Responding, a resident, Mrs Lillian Anioke, commended Edeoga for his humility and simplicity.

Anioke said that all the link roads constructed by former Gov. Sullivan Chime’s administration were in deplorable condition and expressed the hope that Edeoga will do as he said if elected.
