Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Mr Peter Obi, has been declared winner of the presidential election in Ebonyi State.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu came second while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Atiku Abubakar placed third.
The results were announced at the Ebonyi Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Abakaliki, capital of the State on Tuesday.
The Collation Officer for Ebonyi State, Prof Charles Igwe, who is the Vice Chancellor of University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) announced the final results.
He noted that out of a total of 1,563,529 registered voters only 337,887 voters were accredited.
He said that Mr Obi garnered 259,738 while Tinubu got 42,402 votes and Mr Atiku scored 13503 votes.
Valid votes were 325,351 while 11,990 votes were rejected bringing the total votes cast to 337,341.
Votes scored by all the political parties are as follows: A-178, AA-248, AAC-264, ADC-477, ADP-327, APC-42402, APGA-4120, APM-367 and APP-182,
Others are: BP-342, LP-259738, NNPP-1661, NRM-187, PDP-13503, PRP -83, SDP-150, YPP-197 and ZLP-925.
Meanwhile the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on Tuesday declared the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi, winner of the presidential election in Imo State, defeating the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and other political parties.
The returning officer for Imo State presidential election, Charles Esimonye, declared the result in Owerri.
While Obi, got 352,904 votes, the APC, candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, garnered 66,171, and the PDP polled 30,044 votes. The presidential candidate of the NNPP, Rabiu Kwankwaso, scored N1536.
However, the result of the Njaba Local Government Area of the state, was not available because of the violence in the area. Thus only 26 out of 27 local government areas’ results were declared.
