Gunmen on Monday morning ran riot in parts of Enugu metropolis burning vehicles and tricycles and causing panic and confusion among the populace in the process.
Ikengaonline learnt that the incident happened at different areas of Abakpa-Nike including the popular Liberty Junction bus terminal and Harmony Road on Nike Lake.
Similar incident also happened at T-junction, still in Abakpa area also in Abakpa leading to New Heaven via Rev. Fr Mbaka Adoration ministry.
Ikengaonline learnt that two Sienna cars and five tricycles (Keke) were burnt at liberty bus terminal.
Also one Jeep and another unidentified car were burnt at Harmony Road close to Nike Lake Hotel and another at T-junction.
It is not yet confirmed who were behind the arson and the motives behind the act.
The law enforcement agencies were yet to comment on the incidents as at the time of going to the press.
However, in separate interviews with our Correspondent, residents of Abakpa have condemned the acts describing it as unfortunate and barbaric.
Ikengaonline recalled that the Monday sit-at-home has been easing off gradually in parts of the state until now.
It is not known whether the perpetrators were trying to rekindle the the sit-at-home in the state.
