Police operatives in Anambra State have, over the weekend, arrested a man for allegedly harvesting some body parts of a 72-year-old woman for money ritual in Anambra State.

The suspect, identified as Onyebuchi Ezeh, from Abakaliki in Ebonyi State, was said to be working as a domestic servant to the 72-year-old woman, who hails from Umunze in Orumba South Local Government Area of the State.

Ikengaonline gathered that the incident took place after the victim raised alarm on Thursday when Ezeh in connivance with two other men trapped her in her house and cut off her genitals and some other parts of her body including nipple, ear and fingers.

Confessing to the crime, Ezeh, the prime suspect, said they were sent by a native doctor to get the needed organs of the 72 year old in order to become billionaires.

Ezeh also said he usually helps in cutting palm-trees for the aged victim and explained that they embarked on the dastardly act because they wanted to get rich according to the assurances of the native doctor.

Speaking when she visited the woman at the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital Amaku Awka where she’s receiving medical attention, the Anambra State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare Honourable Ify Obinabo, expressed sadness over the development and assured that other persons involved in the crime would also be apprehended and charged to court.

Obinabo promised to work with the Police in making sure that justice is served and the perpetrators brought to book in the shortest possible time.

Ezeh is currently at the State Criminal Investigative Department of the Anambra State Police Command, Awka, and will soon be charged to court.
