The electorate in Anambra Sate have been told to consider candidates’ track records in voting who represents them at the next House of Assembly election in the state.

Member representing Onitsha South 1 at the State Assembly, Hon. Uzoma Eli, gave the advise while addressing his teeming supporters ahead of the forthcoming election in the state.

Hon. Eli who is seeking reelection on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), urged the electorate to ignore voting based on promises and sentiments but based on verifiable track records.

Campaigning at Housing Estate Bridge Head Fegge, Onitsha South LGA, he said, “I like the way campaigns in this election is going. It is now anchored on what candidates have done and no longer business as usual.

“Election is no more I will do this or I will  do that. It is now a matter of what you have done and what you have been able to accomplish with the opportunity you were given.”

Counting his achievements, Eli said that he has so far donated about 4 electricity transformers to his constituency to replace the dilapidated ones, adding that he is on course to deliver more to the people if reelected.

“We embarked on personal intervention fund and offered help to  people to pay their rent and pay hospital bills. Also, we empowered youths by giving them substantial amounts of money, and shuttle buses to earn a living. We also offered help to indigent women by giving them substantial amount of money to support their businesses.”

On the bills he has moved in the Assembly,  Eli said: “I have been moving motions on the floor of the House of Assembly and sponsored bills with some of my friends. There is one bill called Social protection bill which I am currently pursuing in the  State House. This bill takes care of people who are multidimensional poor.”

The lawmaker however pledged to impact more dividends of democracy on the people of his constituency if he is reelected.
