Otti’s emergence triggers wild jubilation in Abia

The emergence of Dr Alex Otti of the Labour Party, has triggered wild jubilation across Abia State as residents trooped out to the streets to celebrate it.
No sooner had Otti been declared winner of the March 18 governorship poll that joyous celebration erupted across the state.
In Umuahia the state capital, residents defied the late evening heavy rain to celebrate the emergence of the Governor -elect as they danced on the street.
Tricycle operators and vehicle drivers were doing all manner of acrobatic driving to the admiration of residents .
Some of the jubilant residents were busy pouring powder on their bodies typical of a man whose wife has given birth .
Youths and children including members of the’Obident’ family were singing and dancing wildly on the streets.
Meanwhile, some residents were raining abuses the ruling Peoples Democratic Party PDP -led Government in the state for under -developing the state.
Isi gate Umuahia market was literally brought shut down as jubilant residents almost became a threat to road users.
Almost everybody was jubilating over the defeat of PDP which has governed the state for 24 years.
Some were chanting pro Peter Obi and LP songs, dancing and praising God for emancipating Abia State from the shackles of political bondage.
There were heavy gunshots from different parts of the state as the entire state went into celebration.
