The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has won the rescheduled election in the Ezza North/Ishielu Federal Constituency of Ebonyi State.

The candidate of APGA, Nwobashi Joseph was declared the winner by the INEC Collation Officer, Prof. Austine Ibegbu.

The declaration followed a supplementary election, which held on April 15, 2023, in the Constituency after the March 18 primary was declared inconclusive.

The APGA candidate polled a total of  11,890 votes to defeat his closest rival, the candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who got 11,150 votes.

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nora Aloh, came third with 1088 votes while Labour Party garnered 8,076 votes.

The Constituency is where the APGA Governorship candidate, Prof. Bernard Odoh, comes from.

INEC also declared Chidi Nwoke Victor of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the winner of the Abakaliki North State Constituency election.

Mr Nwoke defeated Maxwell Umahi, younger brother of Governor David Umahi to clinch the position.

The younger Umahi is the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the said election.

This is one of the results of the supplementary elections held in some parts of Ebonyi State on Saturday, the 15th of April, 2023.

Mr Nwoke garnered a total of 5,988 votes to defeat Mr Umahi who came second with 5,664 votes.

The results was announced by the collation officer for the election,  Smart Otu.

Reacting to his victory, Mr Nwoke expressed appreciation to the people for standing by him and promised never to disappoint them.

He went on to promise that he would see to the making of laws that would lead to the development of Ebonyi North Constituency.
