Anambra State Government has vowed to scale up efforts at stemming the tide of child trafficking, child abuse, and other crimes against children in the State.
Anambra State Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Mrs Ify Obinabo, disclosed this in Awka, Wednesday.
She also said that the state government is working towards ensuring that there is no hiding place for such acts and other obnoxious practices against women in the State.
Mrs Obinabo who disclosed that undiscovered child breeding centers still exist in the State and that her office presently has a lot of cases, maintained that the Ministry of Women and Social Welfare is readying collaborations with Agencies with similar mandates to rid the State of such practices.
She said there is the intention of the Ministry to delegate some works to Agencies and Associations which have what it takes to work with the Ministry in the total fight against child abuse and other crimes and criminalities meted against widows in the State.
According to Obinabo, the Ministry is ready to scale up sensitisation and re-orientation of the people to make them understand the consequences of engaging in evil acts and harmful cultural activities against individuals in the State.
