Major General Lincoln Ogunewe, RTD., has described as mischievous and ill-conceived, the report that he (Ogunewe) accepted the deputy governorship slot of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, ahead of the November 11, Imo governorship election.

Ogunewe made this known through his Twitter handle on Sunday.

He described the report as aimed at creating confusion in his camp of the Labour Party, LP.

The post read: “Ordinarily, this seemingly spurious and ill-conceived report should have been ignored and consigned to the dustbin of history, as same is speculative and unverifiable, aimed at creating mischief and confusion in the minds of unsuspecting members of the public.

“It has, therefore, become increasingly necessary to set the record straight and the state as follows: I have no business or plan of accepting the Deputy Governorship slot in Imo APC.”

“The report that I am under pressure to accept the Deputy Governorship slot in APC is fake, unfounded, baseless, and only exists in the imagination of those carrying this fake news.

“To this end, therefore, my teeming supporters, the OBIDIENT MOVEMENT, and the entire Imolites all over the world are hereby enjoined to disregard the said malicious report, as same is aimed at destabilising the equilibrium.”
