The family of the detained Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi, has accused the South-East governors of abandoning him in detention.

Kanu’s younger brother, Prince Emmanuel Kanu, who made the allegation after visiting the IPOB Leader expressed disappointment that South-East governors were unable to take a common position on Kanu or seek his release.

He said it was very disappointing that the governors were about leaving office without any resolution on Kanu who is languishing in detention for the cause of Ndigbo.

Emmanuel Kanu is also not happy with the attitude of the governors over the affairs of the Biafran agitator.

He further said that his brother, Nnamdi Kanu, said he was not moved by the refusal of the Supreme Court to grant him bail, describing such position as anti democracy.

He said Kanu should not have been denied bail because he committed no crime to remain in detention perpetually.

He, therefore,  challenged lawyers to rise to the defense of democracy in Nigeria which he said, was under serious threat.

Emmanuel quoted Kanu as saying that “it is Kanu today, tomorrow it might be another person.”

“I Just met Mazi Nnamdi  Kanu at the usual place (DSS dungeon) Abuja, today.

“When I intimated him of the supreme court proceedings, he laughed off his head. He noted that he is being held for civil reasons and not criminal reasons.

“He, therefore, charged every reasonable lawyer in Nigeria to rise up and challenge the rot and vices prevalent in the judicial system in Nigeria.

“He made it clear that today he is the victim, tomorrow, it might be you or anyone close to you.

“This is what he said to me: I’m here to defend humanity and surely that freedom must come… I’m not moved or shaken for any reason.”

He further quoted Kanu as saying that all his prophecies must come to pass.
