Anambra State governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo and his Imo State counterpart, Governor Hope Uzodimma, have lauded President Muhammadu Buhari, following the completion of the Second Niger Bridge in Onitsha.
The second Niger bridge was officially commissioned by President Buhari on Tuesday. He also commissioned the Ebele Ofunneamaka Okeke Federal Secretariat Awka, drawing the presence of political leaders and other key stakeholders from the South-East.
Soludo who spoke during the event said Nigerians will remember President Muhammadu Buhari legacies including the newly commissioned projects when he leaves office on May 29, 2023.
The governor said the Second Niger Bridge will attract more social-economic activities in the South-East region.
He wished the President well as he prepares to leave office, come May 29, 2023.
Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, who also commended the President, said his heart was full of joy and his eyes full of tears over the opening of the second Niger bridge, even though the Igbos did not vote for Buhari.
“He asks for our votes and we did not vote for him and yet we have gotten a second Niger bridge. It is a thing of joy for me.
“On behalf of myself, the South-East governors, Ohanaeze leaders and the entire people of the region present here, I, Governor Hope Uzodinma, say thank you Mr. President.”
