The traditional ruler of Orsu Obodo in the Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State, HRH Eze Victor Ijioma, has been shot dead and allegedly set ablaze in his car.
It was gathered in the area that the incident happened last Thursday at the Umuamaka junction, while the monarch was driving.
Also killed alongside the monarch was atraditional prime minister, Isama of the Mgbele community.
At the time of filing this report, villagers who were afraid because of the attacks have started relocating to neighboring villages.
The reason being that it was said the rampaging gunmen have allegedly resorted to writing letters to communities informing them that “they will be coming to execute an operation.”
According to sources, “Apart from the killing of the monarch, the issue of gunmen writing letters to communities that they are coming for attacks should be looked into. They are causing more fear and villagers are running away from their communities.”
However, at the time of filing this story, the State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Henry Okafor, was yet to respond to the inquiries.
