The pronouncement by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during his inauguration Monday in Abuja that the era of fuel subsidy was over, has had ripple effects on the price of petroleum products.
The pump price of Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, is now between N600 and N680 per litre at different petrol stations in Umuahia, Abia State capital.
Investigation by Ikengaonline revealed that most of the filing stations did not open for business.
The product was not available for consumers who desperately needed it.
Our checks further revealed that many filing stations which had sold petrol on Monday did not open for business on Tuesday.
The situation has affected economic and commercial activities in the state as public outcry trail the sad development.
