Gov. Alex Otti of Abia State, has directed banks and all financial institutions in the state and the country, to immediately freeze all bank accounts of the State Government.
He also ordered them to to freeze all bank accounts belonging to agencies and parastatals of Government domiciled in every bank and financial institutions across the state and the federation.
Otti who gave the orders in a statement by his Media Adviser, Ferdinand Ekeoma, also directed the immediate dissolution of all Boards of the State Government agencies and parastatals.
The statement made available to Ikengaonline read in part: “With this notice, all banks and other financial institutions in the country are directed to immediately cease from honoring any cheque, document, instrument or directive of any kind not expressly approved by or emanating from him,” Otti ordered.
The Governor ordered the Chief Executives of these organisations to hand over to those next in line to them.
Otti who was inaugurated on Monday had during his inaugural speech, said he had come to rebuild Abia.
