Parents of four year-old toddler, Clair Chinasa Okwara, have called for justice over the stabbing to death of their daughter, by one Vivian Solomon Benson, at Nwosu Estate, Works layout in Owerri, Imo State.
The parents, yesterday, spoke to newsmen in Owerri, on the incident that happened on May 27, 2023.
The suspect, Vivian, was said to have entered the compound and pretended to be playing with the victim and suddenly brought out a knife and stabbed the baby four times.
After the attack, Vivan, was arrested by the residents, and was seen saying that she should be taken to the police station claiming that “she was from the marine spirit.”
The mother, of the victim, Judith Okwara, who spoke briefly said that she rushed out when she heard her other children screaming.
She said that when she arrived the scene, she was able to disarm the attacker with the help of a neighbour.
“I was shouting for help and somebody who sells something along the streets rushed to come and helped me and my daughter was rushed to hospital.”
The father of the victim said: “When I entered the theater, where my daughter was lying, I could not behold what I saw and I rushed out from the place and was praying to God that she would make it but unfortunately she did not make it. An innocent child of four years and her life was snuffed out. What I want is justice.”
At the time of filling this report, the State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Henry Okoye, said, “we are currently investigating the matter and the suspect will face the law.”
