Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has invited critical stakeholders in the state for a crucial meeting over failure of his ban of sit-at-home on Mondays across the state.
A public announcement signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prof Chidiebere Onyia, said the meeting was scheduled to hold at Government House Lodge Enugu on Saturday, June 10.
According to the State Government, the meeting with stakeholders was to discuss the way forward for the state on the backdrop of continued staying at home on Mondays in obedience to the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
Those invited to attend the meeting, according to the announcement included leaders of transport unions, media, leaders of markets, commanders of various paramilitary organisations, civil security apparatus, the civil society and organised labour.
Ikengaonline recalled that many residents of the state ignored the governor’s directive that residents should go about their normal businesses last Monday.
It would also be recalled that Banks, schools, hospitals, markets and other public offices/outlets defied the order and refused to open for business for fear of the unknown.
