The bid by the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu State, Uchenna Nnaji, to disqualify the winner and two other candidates in the election was on Tuesday thrown out by the Enugu State Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Enugu.
The Tribunal dismissed the case filed by Nnaji against Peter Mbah of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP); Hon Chijioke Edeoga of Labour Party (LP); and Frank Nweke of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
The APC candidate had petitioned the court alleging that candidates of the three other political parties were not qualified to contest the March 18 election.
However, in the ruling on Tuesday, the court held that the pre-hearing notice filed by the petitioner was premature and ran foul of the 2022 Electoral Act.
The tribunal therefore, dismissed the case.
