The Federal High Court sitting in Awka, Anambra State capital has sentenced a notorious robbery kingpin to die by hanging for killing a businessman in the state.
The suspect whose name is Ikechukwu Udensi, popularly known as Ikanda, was initially declared wanted for killing, Mr Ndubuisi Nwokolo who until his death, was a trader in Onitsha.
Ikengaonline reports that late Nwokolo was murdered in broad daylight, for attempting to save a commercial motorcyclist conveying him from being extorted by Ikanda and his boys.
Ikanda was arrested by the Police in Anambra in April 2019 after a N1million bounty was placed on his head by the the State Government.
Reports had it that Udensi, aged 27, from Azia in Ihiala Local Government Area is known to be very notorious around Onitsha axis, and also has several boys working for him.
He was also said to be powerful and also works for several big politicians in the state who always effect his release, each time he was arrested.
He was said to have been arrested in Onitsha, following a tip-off, while sneaking into the town to collect proceeds of illegal toll collection from his men.
