A teenage houseboy has reportedly killed a staff of Nnamdi Azikwe University with a pestle in Awka, the Anambra State capital.
Ikengaonline learned that the victim, Chima Anolue, was a Technologist at the Department of Psychology Nnamdi Azikiwe University and the son to the Secretary, of the College of Postgraduate Studies, UNIZIK, Awka.
He was also said to be a devoted chorister at the Anglican Communion.
A video shared by a Facebook user, Uloka Chibuike, revealed that the houseboy whose name is yet to be identified repeatedly hit his master with a pestle at the rear side of his head after a brief confrontation resulting from his failure to complete some house chores.
The killer-houseboy who was later captured by the local security, in his confession, admitted to have repeatedly hit his master, Chima, with a pestle after he only asked him why he hadn’t done his household duties.
“He walked into the kitchen where I was cooking rice and asked me why I hadn’t washed plates, when I refused to answer, Chima slapped me. In reaction to the slap, I used the pestle on his head three times,” the boy said in the video.
However, an unconfirmed source had it that the killer used both a kitchen knife and pestle on his master even while his body was already lying helpless on the floor in a pool of blood, suggesting a deliberate intention to have him murdered.
The killer-houseboy, who should be within the age of 17 or less, and from Ebonyi State, has since been handed over to the Nigeria Police, Awka division, for further questioning, while the corpse of the deceased Chima has been deposited in a morgue for autopsy.
