Senator representing Anambra North at the 10th Senate, Senator Tony Nwoye, has received a seven-day ultimatum to apologise to billionaire philanthropist, Prince Arthur Eze, for reportedly referring to him casually as “the man from Ukpo” in a public gathering.
The Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Dunukofia State Constituency in the 2023 general election, Cornel Ilokolobia, gave the warning while reacting to a video which is currently making the rounds in different media platforms.
Ikengaonline gathered that Ilokolobia, a former Youth Leader of Dunukofia, had issued the ultimatum, warning that the lawmaker must do so within seven days “or face the music.”
Ilokolobia was reacting to Nwoye’s alleged comment in Abuja wherein the lawmaker reportedly “causally referenced to Prince Arthur Eze as the man from Ukpo in his speech at the Anambra Town Hall meeting in Abuja.”
Reacting to a video making the rounds in that respect, Ilokolobian called on Senator Nwoye “to quickly tender unreserved apologies to Prince Engr Arthur Eze, Ndigbo and humanity for making a snide referencing to Eze “in the gathering of eminent personalities across Nigeria as if referencing a nobody and a man of no significance.”
Ilokolobia said it was no secrete that Eze spent over N10 billion on Nwoye’s political ambitions over time.
He said: “It is common knowledge that twice Prince Arthur Eze spent billions of naira on governorship election campaigns of Nwoye, labouring to make Sen. Nwoye Anambra Governor. On those two occasions, Ndi Anambra and Nigerians knew that Prince Arthur Eze’s resources were the backbone of Sen. Nwoye before he eventually won the House of Representatives seat and today’s Senate.”
“Sen. Nwoye’s comment is a bad market for the youths as many benevolent spirits and personalities will now have second thought before helping young people.
“Those words are tagged ingratitude and some persons could be led to think that if Prince Arthur Eze can be shown such who are they and why will they spend resources to build young persons around them ?”
