A source, who witnessed the incident said that other truck drivers blocked the Enugu-Onitsha expressway in protest.
Reports said that over a hundred trucks blocked the expressway thereby causing massive gridlock on the road.
Sources hinted that the drivers have refused to clear off the road insisting that Gov. Peter Mbah or a top official of the tate government comes to address them.
The drivers were said to have confirmed that the touts on the road have killed some of their colleagues in the past for no just cause.
“Enough is enough, we can’t accept it any longer. Why must these people be killing our members like chickens every time. This is not the first, second or third.
“They kill our people every time but today marks the end. This road will be blocked until the Enugu State Governor comes here to address us,” one of the drivers said.
