Many passengers were on Tuesday evening reportedly kidnapped along Enugu-Ugwuogo-Opi road in Enugu State by unknown gunmen.
According to reports a passenger bus was flagged down and all the passengers on board, except a woman whose little child was crying uncontrollably, were abducted and taken to the bush.
It was learnt that the woman and her child was dropped so that traces of the kidnappers would not be known.
Though Police were yet to comment on the issue Ikengaonline can report that there were over 20 police and Army check-points along the same road.
It would be recalled that the Ugwuogo-Opi-Ekwuegbe road had, few months ago became a nightmare for travelers.
This caused security to be beefed up along the road but it appears that despite the heavy presence of all manner of security outfits, the hoodlums have returned again.
There has been no clue as to where the victims are being kept and no contact has been mad yet.
