Abia State Government has sealed off a property belonging to Azikiwe Road Primary School in Aba, that was converted into a private estate after it was allegedly sold by the immediate-past administration.
Gov. Alex Otti, had during his inaugural speech, vowed to recover every stolen public property.
The Governor had also inaugurated a Judiciary Panel of Inquiry on Recovery of Looted Government Property.
Despite widespread rumour that the land where the said property was sited belonged to a public schools, work had continued on the property.
The property was sealed off by the Aba South Town Planning Authority in pursuant to section 70 of Abia state Urban and Regional Planning Board/Planning Authorities law of Abia state 2005 as amended by law number: 4 of 2015.
It warned trespassers to keep off the site or risk prosecution.
A sticker pasted on the property warned that anyone including “owner/occupier (s), neighbour (s) or passer (s) by who unseals or attempts to unseal the building is in contravention of section 8 of ABS-URPB&PA Law nos 4 of 2015 as amended and liable to imprisonment or fine or both.”
