Anambra State-born Miss Ekpereamaka Obiasor has arrived at the University of Derby in United Kingdom after clinching the Acobarry Foundation scholarship for the year 2023.
A statement from the foundation said Obiasor was awarded full scholarship for her Master’s Degree at the University of Derby in the United Kingdom.
It read: “Ekpereamaka Obiasor was awarded full scholarship by Acobarry Foundation for masters degree at the University of Derby in the United Kingdom. She has arrived the UK to resume studies.
“The scholarship was awarded by Acobarry Foundation under the chairmanship of Hon. Onyedika Chukwuma, and takes care of the tuition and living expenses of the scholarship recipient.
“Upon her arrival, Ms. Obiasor is expected to commence her studies and complete in the next eighteen months.
“The Chairman and Management of Acobarry Foundation wishes Ekpereamaka Obiasor a most successful learning time. While wishing her the best of experience during this season of her life, we are confident that she would make her family and all of us proud.”
Acobarry Charity Foundation, which is a non-governmental charity organisation, is reputed for awarding scholarships to indigent youths in Anambra and had stated its commitment to building and development of youths who desire academic excellence.
Before Obiasor’s UK scholarship, the Foundation had awarded several other scholarships. A scholarship worth one million naira was recently paid for one Mr. Christian Chukwuma, from Okpeze community in Orumba North Local Government Area of the state for his Masters Degree at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu University. It covered both the tuition, accommodation and allowance.
According to the Management, the idea was to promote access to quality education for indigent students in the state. “It is also in response to the ‘Think-Home’ call of the Anambra State Government,” it said.
