The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja, has dismissed the suit filed against the Deputy Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly, Hon Amara Iwuanyanwu.
In case no ABJ/FP/SHA/18/2023, Justice N.Shuaibu, affirmed the position of the Election Petition Tribunal judgment, which ruled that Rt. Hon Iwuanyanwu won the State Assembly election for Nwangele State Constituency.
Meanwhile, the Imo State Elections Petitions Tribunal sitting in Nasarawa State, on Friday, September 15, 2023, dismissed Barrister Uche Onyeagocha’s petition filed before it against incumbent Senator Ezenwa Onyewuchi.
Senator Onyewuchi of the Labour Party was declared winner of the February 25, Owerri Senatorial District election by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
In its judgment, the three-man panel dismissed the petition for lack of merit, and affirmed the victory of Onyewuchi.
