Abia State Government is to site a project worth N15 million in every Autonomous Community in the state.
The move according to the Special Adviser to the Governor on Policy & Intervention, Rev. Father Dr Christian Anokwuru, is part of Government’s efforts to extend development to the grassroots.
Dr Anokwuru who disclosed this at a press conference in Umuahia, said that Government would soon embark on tour of communities in the state to identify the projects selected by the various communities.
The SA said that every community would on its own select the project of its choice according to its need but it must not cost more than N15 million.
He further added that the benefiting community would contribute five per cent of the cost of such project which the rest would be done by Government through Community and Social Development Agency.
According to him, the 5% contribution from the benefiting community will give it a sense of responsibility over such project and help safeguard it against vandals.
He restated the readiness of Gov. Alex Otti-led administration to rebuild Abia, and make it one of the enviable states in the country.
