Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has called on over 1,200 National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) members deployed to the state to take advantage of the orientation to equip themselves for the task of developing their host communities.
In a message during the swearing-in of the 2023 Batch C Stream 1 corps members at the Permanent Orientation camp, Eziama Obaire in Nkwerre Local Government Area of the state, the Governor urged the corps members to harness their skills and talents to the overall development of the area.
Governor Uzodimma represented by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youths and Sports, Mrs Chioma Ibezim, recognised the remarkable achievements of the NYSC emphasising on its pivotal role in fostering National Unity and Development.
He enjoined the young graduates to avail themselves of the opportunities provided by the course especially, the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Programme, to improve their lots.
The Governor assured the corps members that his administration would continue to accord priority to their welfare and safety in the state, adding that a reward mechanism was in place to appreciate corps members with outstanding performance.
Justice Anthonette Onyeukwu administered the Oath of Allegiance to the corps members.
