Ugo Nosiri, Owerri
Winner of the Imo State Governorship election, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has assured the people that he will do better with utmost honesty.
Senator Uzodimma promised to provide transparent, accountable, and transformative leadership to people of the state in his second term in office.
The incumbent governor stated this while reading out his acceptance speech at the government house in Owerri.
He stressed that the victory was a vote of confidence in his performances in the last four years and acknowledged God for the victory.
“Because I acknowledge God in everything I do and because I know that power comes from God, the first thing I did upon receiving the news of my victory yesterday was to proceed to the church to thank God for his goodness to me and Imo people. Of course, I can never thank God enough for doing it again for me.”
Senator Uzodimma thanked stakeholders in the state, the council of elders, the traditional rulers, women, youths, traders, religious body and Imo workers through their different unions for their support.
“I will continue to provide an inclusive platform for all Imo people to have a say on how they are governed. These are my promises, and I believe this was why you voted for me,” he said.
The visibly delighted governor called on the opponents to come up with good ideas and join hands with him to develop the state.
He commended INEC and security agencies for “free, fair and credible election.”
