Police in Anambra State have arrested two ring leaders of notorious cult groups responsible for killings in Ihiala Local Government Area of the state.
Spokesperson of Anambra Police Command, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga disclosed in a statement that the arrest was made during a special operation of the Police Crack Squad in the area.
According to him, the Squad was deployed to Ihiala by the Commissioner of Police, CP Aderemi Adeoye, to provide security for the people during and after the festive period.
Ikenga said “One Chitana Oha, male, 25 years, alias “Kill and Bury” was arrested.
“Also nabbed was one Emmanuel Ifeanyi Okonkwo, male, 24 yrs Alias “Good and Bad.
“Both suspects were arrested at their hideout at Okija within the same Local Government Area.”
Ikenga said CP Adeoye has vowed to end the cult-related killings in Ihiala the same way he stamped out the menace in Awka Capital City.
He added that the CP has directed the Crack Squad to go all out against the cultists and clip their wings and assured members of the public that their security remains a topmost priority of the Command.
